London - Houndsfield Primary School
Autumn Term 2015
At the end of Term 2 2015, I moved to London to teach at Houndsfield Primary in Enfield. My new role starting September 2015 is as a Reception Teacher. The Early Years Team at Houndsfield are on a similar journey to the one I've been on at Sumner and are looking at how teaching in EYs can be more child lead and collaborative for the teachers. - Yet again moving from single cell to at Modern Learning Environment. However this time there are three teachers with 90 children. This means thinking more about thing like:

Learning Zones are based off the 7 areas of the Development Matters document. Spread across the three classrooms you will see the following areas...
Through out the day the children move between the learning zones. Teacher and LSA observations are taken of learning using ipods and an app called 2simple. This app makes capturing learning easier for the Adults in the unit and we are able to share the observations with families via the website or app and use it to reflect with children at the end of each day. Classroom programme and Timetable The children are ability grouped for phonics, reading, writing and maths.
